The “Humpty Lamp” is a glass lamp that maintains balance by using a weight located at its base. Because the base is a perfect semi-sphere of glass, the contrast between its fragility and ballast properties is most apparent. To add, because the lamp is maintained by a single focal point, it assumes a surrealist air- almost as if the light is levitating. The “Humpty Lamp” can also store the extra electrical wire in its base to allow a different aesthetic if desired.
